Shareholders of Lincoln City Football Club are asked to give permission to be contacted by email in order to minimise costs and environmental impact.
The football club has a legal obligation to provide all shareholders with certain documentation in connection with its AGM. Each year the club incurs significant costs in sending this information to shareholders by post, and this outlay will rise significantly as Lincoln City FC now has more than 5,000 shareholders.
The club has already amended its articles of association to allow it to send or supply documents and information to shareholders in electronic form by both email and on the club website. In order to comply with company law, the club is also required to obtain the individual consent of each shareholder to communicate with them by email and via its website.
Shareholders who agree to participate in this process will help the club save money and improve its carbon footprint.
