Mark Kennedy is proud of his side who extended their unbeaten run to five games with a draw against Barnsley.

The Imps battled their way to a point under the LNER Stadium lights, with Kennedy keen to praise the unity displayed from his side to defend so resiliently against a promotion contender.

He said: “I am really proud of the group because I think they showed their qualities and character. It was a really good show of unity from the squad as people.

“It was two really good defensive performances and some quality football on show at times - I thought a draw was probably a fair result.”

“We will try to attack every game the best we can and try and accumulate as many points as possible.”

Kennedy also praised goalkeeper Jordan Wright who came into the team for the suspended Carl Rushworth and helped the Imps secure another clean sheet.

He added: “I am really pleased for him and think he’s a fantastic goalkeeper. I have constantly banged the drum for him all year and think he’s going to be an outstanding number one.

“I was really happy for him that he got his clean sheet because he has played well in a lot of games but not quite had the rewards in terms of clean sheets, so that will mean the world to him.”
