TJ Eyoma was reintroduced to Kennedy’s side and helped the Imps to a fifth clean sheet in six matches.
The goalless draw with Portsmouth further extended City's strong defensive record this season, and Eyoma believes his versatility is beneficial to his side.
He said: “Lewis Montsma and Adam Jackson have been doing a good job with Paudie O’Connor and I’m glad I was able to help. We kept another good clean sheet and hopefully we can keep going.
“I am comfortable playing in a defensive five or a four. I have played in both systems this season and so that helped when Adam Jackson went off and I played with Paudie O'Connor.”
The Imps have now only conceded one goal in their last six games, something Eyoma has credited to the hard work done on the training ground during the week.
He added: “We spend a lot of time working on our out of possession shape and defending our box, and I thought that showed with how solid we were.
“We are playing a lot of games and hopefully we can turn those draws into wins. We’ve got a couple games in hand and hopefully we can pick up the points.”
