Regan Poole says his side have strong foundations from which they can start collecting more points.

The Imps were held to a goalless draw by Cambridge United on Saturday, but the defender believes small margins stopped City from taking all three points.

He said: “Defensively we were solid and I never thought we looked like conceding. It’s another clean sheet and building block to move on from.

“We had the better of the few chances in the game and I think if we could’ve got the first one, the game would’ve opened up a bit more - but that wasn’t the case.

"It is another point on the board but it should have been three.”

The Welshman also spoke about the togetherness within the group as well as extending the unbeaten league run at the LNER Stadium.

He added: “We are a good group who are together and we try our best to keep the spirits high. We’re unbeaten at home and it’s February next week, so that’s something to be proud of.

“Everybody in the group wants to turn the form around and score more goals. We know if we keep working hard then we will turn these draws into wins sooner rather than later.”
