Date of birth
Joan Luque initially joined the Imps on trial during the 2018/19 Pre Season campaign.
After featuring in a number of friendlies for the club, the Spaniard did enough to impress boss Danny Cowley and earn himself his first professional football contract at the age of 26.
Luque originally came to England through Spanish football camp, "ENGLAND:The Chance" where Spanish players are given the opportunity to showcase their skills to a number of English clubs.
The 26-year-old who was part of Barcelona’s Academy as a youngster was given a chance by Heybridge Swifts boss, Jody Brown. His gamble soon paid off as Luque became a fan's favourite at the Scraley Road Ground.
The forward who has played for a number of Spanish sides such as FC Santboià and San Rafael was part of the 2017/18 Bostik League Team of the Year after scoring 30 goals and collecting 18 assists for The Swifts.
Luque is currently on a six-month deal at Sincil Bank following his arrival from Heybridge. The Spaniard made his first start in City colours in the recent game against Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup, a game in which he also netted his first goal for The Imps.
