Ethan Hamilton feels City have used the international break wisely in preparation for their next fixture against Carlisle United.
The Imps were not in action last weekend after having their match against Oxford United postponed due to international call-ups.
Hamilton said: "We’ve just been using the time wisely, and getting some work done on the pitch.
"But nothing can match the feeling that a Saturday or Tuesday night match can give you, so we’re looking forward to Saturday."
Hamilton is also enjoying the competitiveness of City’s squad this campaign, with Mark Kennedy having a number of options to turn to in midfield.
Hamilton added: "We’ve got a great squad all over the pitch, and we all push each other every day.
"That’s really important, and it means training is always really competitive, and we push each other all the way."
