Michael Skubala is under no illusions of the task facing his side as they travel to Cheltenham Town on Saturday 20 April.

The Robins are currently fighting to stay in the division, and Skubala knows just how big of a threat Darrell Clarke’s side will pose.

Skubala said: “It’s a huge game, and since Darrell Clarke has taken charge, they’ve gone on an amazing run to get off the bottom.

“It’s given themselves a chance to survive, they obviously went to Burton and got a 2-1 win so it’s going to be a really tough game. It’s a hard place to go anyway, we know the sort of style we’re looking to expect, and it’ll be a totally different game to Oxford.

“There’s no easy game left, especially for the teams fighting for survival. Sometimes they’re the harder teams to come up against because they’ve got to give everything to get that extra three points to try and stay in the league.”

City’s head coach also reflected on what was a memorable night under the lights at Oxford United, and has urged Imps fans to match the atmosphere once again at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium.

He added: “Tuesday night they just didn’t stop, when you heard the place erupt it was all down to the City fans, so thank you to them and the support throughout the 90 minutes.

“It really does push the lads. Cheltenham is a tough place to go so we’ll definitely need the fans again, and hopefully we can get the job done for them.”

With City’s final game of the league season against Portsmouth now sold out, the club have opened the buyback scheme for gold season members - click here for more details.
