Lincoln City Foundation will be the official headline charity partner of Lincoln Krazy Races as announced at the event’s launch at the White Horse on Thursday 18 April.

In collaboration with Lincoln BIG, Krazy Races welcomed 40 soapbox teams to the pub along with local businesses and key stakeholders, with organisers in attendance to outline the details of the event.

The nationally acclaimed soapbox derby event will make its Lincoln debut on Sunday 15 September, marking the finale of the Krazy Races season that will entertain thousands in towns and cities across the UK while raising substantial funds for a variety of charities.

Krazy Races was announced in December, and all 40 team spaces were snapped up in just seven days! Teams comprise of locals, businesses, and educational facilities who will construct, design, and race quirky soapboxes in front of an anticipated audience of up to 20,000 individuals.

Danny Scoffin, head of brand and strategic development at Krazy Races, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "We are delighted to announce Lincoln City Foundation as our 2024 headline charity for Lincoln.

“The core ethos of Krazy Races is deeply rooted in our charity partnerships. In 2023, our events collectively raised over £100,000 for charity, setting a new record.

“Our aim is to surpass this achievement in 2024, and we are confident that this goal is well within reach with our partnership with this outstanding charity."

Alexandra Bavin, director of operations at Lincoln City Foundation shared, “We are incredibly excited to be a part of this special event here in Lincoln and the first one of its kind in the city too.

“It’s such an honour to be chosen as the charity partner, as all the funds raised will allow us to continue to develop our outreach across Lincolnshire and specifically on our programmes for children and young adults.

“Across the Club and Foundation, we are looking forward to sharing what will be a super fun day with all the participants and visitors.”

Lee Roberts, Lincoln BIG head of operations added:  “We are delighted that Lincoln City Foundation are the official charity partner for the first Krazy Races here in Lincoln.

“The event is sure to be a fun-filled day for all involved and we are hoping that the event can generate awareness and funding for the Foundation to enable them to continue making a difference to the lives of people in Lincolnshire.”

Although spaces for Lincoln Krazy Races are closed, organisers are on the lookout for local businesses to support the event, with numerous advertisement opportunities still available.
