The Big Lottery - 'Reaching Communities' Fund
Lincoln City FC Sport & Education Trust is extremely delighted to announce that they have been successful in their application to The Big Lottery for their brand new project “IMPowerment for All”.
LCFCSET has been awarded £332,000 to deliver this project over the next three years. The project involves work with individuals with physical and mental health issues, in Special Education Needs Schools, Multi Activity Evening Clubs and Mental Health Units, including the provision of Sports Leaders UK qualifications, to help the long term sustainability of the project.
Richard Cooper, CEO of The Trust said: "This is far and away the biggest award of funding The Trust has ever attracted in a single project and highlights how far the charity has developed in recent years.
"It is testament to the fantastic members of staff that helped to make this happen and shows the faith that The Big Lottery has in our organisation to be able to deliver rewarding and beneficial projects in the community."
The project has taken several months to piece together and it went through a rigorous 5-step process before reaching its successful conclusion. A huge ‘thank you’ to Damon Parkinson, Jane Cooper and Gail Dunn for help with compiling the application, along with support documentation from Karl McCartney MP, Angie Morley - Special Olympics Lincs, Duncan McGill - St Christopher’s Special School, Darren Taxis - The Phoenix School, Rosemary Akrill - Short Breaks Project Officer, Tyrone Halliday - Lincolnshire NHS Trust and parent Maria Robinson.
