Lincoln City Football Club can confirm that the Club have formally applied for planning permission to develop a brand new Elite Performance Centre close to RAF Scampton.

Building on the successes of last season and the successful first season back in the Football League, the club are looking to continue that positive trend with a bold and progressive investment into our future. The £1.3million development will be based on a 12.3-acre site on Heath Lane, Scampton and is seen as a vital development in order sustain the continued and rapid progression of The Club both for its current and future stars.

The new Elite Performance Centre will boast three state of the art grass pitches, gymnasium, changing rooms and staff offices.

Danny and Nicky Cowley have been integral to the preparation and planning in the project, with their requirements a vital part of the process and they admit that being able to add the best facilities will ensure that their playing squad will be in the perfect environment to prepare for the 2018/19 Football League season.

“This will really help us on a day to day basis.” Danny Cowley said.

“With our own training ground and base, we will be able to improve the provision that we offer to our players. That will give them an even better chance to play at their best.

"You want to practice on a surface which is similar to what you play on week in, week out, like Sincil Bank."

Talbot’s Farm & Landscapes have been appointed to oversee the development of the playing surface with their proud and extensive portfolio including work for the London 2012 Olympic Games, Wembley Stadium, Crystal Palace FC, Swansea City FC, King Power Stadium & Lords Cricket Ground.

Directors at Talbot’s Sports Turf said they are proud to be working with the Imps in what is an exciting time for the club.  “We are very proud and pleased to be working with a club that has achieved so much in the last playing season and has exciting and dynamic views moving forwards. It’s a club that want to achieve and keep pushing the boundaries within the world of football.”

There are also a number of ways that fans can get involved to assist the club in leaving a lasting legacy for future generations of Imps’ fans and players alike, keep your eyes peeled on the club’s official website for further details coming soon.
