Danny: Rowe was exceptional in the reverse fixture and it's good to have him back

7 March 2019

Danny Cowley is delighted to have Danny Rowe back from injury as the Imps host Yeovil Town tomorrow night.

The 26-year-old had been sidelined with a strain to his quad last weekend, however Rowe has trained with the Imps all week and will be available for selection this week.

Rowe was the star man for City in the reverse fixture, scoring a brace as Lincoln travelled to Huish Park.

“Danny [Rowe] is back, he is a key player for us. He was exceptional when we went down to Yeovil, he caused real problems and we are delighted to have him back this weekend,” explained the Imps boss.

“I think for us, one of the reasons we have had success this season is because we have different weapons available to us. We will try to select the right style tomorrow night against a Yeovil team which will be different to Forest Green.”

Lincoln City will go five points clear at the top of the SkyBet League Two table with a win over Yeovil Town tomorrow night.

The Imps currently have 69 points to their name and a game in hand over second place Bury who drew 1-1 with Cheltenham on Tuesday night.

Speaking about Yeovil’s threats going into tomorrow night’s clash Cowley said: “Yeovil carry a real counter attacking threat and because of that they had a good start to the season.

“They’ve picked up key injuries and since then their form has been disrupted however, recently they’ve got them players back on the pitch and their results have picked up as a result of that.”

The Imps have not lost a league fixture since the end of December 2018, Cowley’s side continued their fine form last Saturday with a 2-1 away win at Forest Green Rovers.

“We have been working all week on a plan which allows us to play with the intent and purpose which we would like. We played a certain way on Saturday and we will adapt and play the way we feel will give us the win tomorrow night.”

Lincoln have just 11 fixtures left in the 2018/19 SkyBet League Two campaign with six of them being scheduled at home.

Cowley finished by explaining how he will respect tomorrow’s opposition despite the Imps’ impressive home record going into the game.

“We have only lost once at home all season, we probably haven’t won as many in recent games as we would like but we have shown respect to our opponents,” said Danny.

“We will try to get the process right because we were pleased with the way we played at Forest Green on Saturday, we are respectful because Yeovil are a different side to Forest Green.”
