Lewis Fiorini cannot wait to see the 617 Squadron bouncing to celebrate one of his goals - after getting off the mark for the Imps on Saturday.

The midfielder's strike helped his side to a 5-1 victory at Cambridge United, and he relished scoring in front of the 1,124 travelling fans.

He said: "As soon as I hit it I knew it was going in a top corner - last season I scored quite a few goals from outside the box which hopefully I can do again. Playing in front of fans is a new experience for me, and Saturday was probably the best crowd I've played in front of.

"The atmosphere has been great at our home games, with the 617 in the corner it can really get bouncing and is good for the players."

The 19-year-old is in his second spell away from parent club Manchester City, having spent last season in the Netherlands with NEC Breda.

He added: "Living in a foreign country at 18 in a pandemic is a bit of a crazy experience and it was difficult at times, but my growth and maturity accelerated so fast.

"In terms of football it set me up perfectly to come to Lincoln, and hopefully I can have a similar effect here."

The Imps are back at home on Tuesday night when Rotherham United head to the LNER Stadium, with Ipswich Town the visitors next Saturday. Don't miss any of the action by securing your spot at the games now by going to eticketing.co.uk/imps
