City forward, Morgan Whittaker, admits he has developed since his arrival in January and has had to learn to deal with a number of new experiences.

Morgan has had to be versatile since his arrival, having played across the front-three as well as in a more defensive-minded wing-back position, which has enabled him to achieve the minutes on the pitch he was eager for.

He said: “I thought for my career, it would be best to have a run of games and when you do that you realise the mix of emotions that come with playing every week.

“You have to learn to deal with that and understand every game is not going to go your way and that’s fine because I know I’m developing as a player and learning how to be better in games so it’s all been a positive.”

Following an enforced period out of the side, Morgan has worked his way back into the side and made a goalscoring return with a brace against Cheltenham on Easter Monday.

Whittaker added: “Coming back from Charlton, my aim was to try and get a goal a game and I had a good start last weekend, so I just want to finish the season as strongly as possible for myself and for the team.

“I came here to score goals and I have five now which I am happy with. It’s been a perfect response since the Charlton match and I feel like I’m learning League One, it’s just a shame it’s coming to an end soon.”

Morgan and City will return to the LNER Stadium on Saturday April 30 for the final game of the season against Crewe. The supporter-voted Player of the Season Award will also be announced on the pitch after full-time; tickets are still available for the event and can be purchased HERE.
