City’s victory over Bristol Rovers marked the club’s official dedicated Her Game Too matchday.

The day was part of City’s continued support for the campaign, which aims to eradicate sexism in football and the industry.

As part of the event, City’s mens and women’s teams came together before kick-off for a group photo and the women’s side had a lap of honour around the LNER Stadium at half-time. The first-team also wore special warm-up tops in support of the campaign.

Lucy Ford, co-founder of Her Game Too was in attendance on Saturday and took part in a Q&A pitchside at half-time.

She said: “Despite the short time we had to plan the fixture together, the effort Lincoln City put in was exactly what we expect from a partner club and I can’t thank everyone enough.

“I really valued the opportunity to talk about what we do at Her Game Too at half-time and to hopefully encourage a female Lincoln City fan to become their Her Game Too ambassador.”

Head of governance and compliance at the Imps, Matt Murgett, added: “Women should feel safe and welcome in football and the industry, and Her Game Too are working hard to eradicate sexism in the game.

“We’re really proud to support the campaign. The day was a real success and we hope it will have a lasting impact.”
